to Work
Charles King is a U.S. Army veteran who took the oath to fight for this country. He will fight for District 9 as well.
​
A native Arkansan, Charles has been active in the community as a Servant leader all his life. He is the youngest of four (4) siblings who was raised by his parents to follow the Holy Scripture and serve others. He has one adult son (Charles, III “Trey”) and one adult God sent daughter (Bettina). They are both HBCU graduates.
In his professional life, Charles is a professional fundraiser. In his most recent role he was the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Philander Smith University, in Little Rock. In this role, it was his responsibility to raise funds for student scholarships and to sustain the university.
In his career, he has raised over $75 Million dollars in his over 20 years of higher education and non-profit management.

His commitment to serving the community is endless and priceless. He currently serves as the President of the Daisy Bates House Museum Foundation Board. This board is responsible for preserving her home and the legacy of Daisy Bates as she lead the Little Rock 9 into Central High School in 1957.
He's currently a Board Member for the Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation. This organization supports the community through eliminating food deserts and increasing family quality of life.
